Paper is one of the primary requirements. From tissues, napkins,
, toilet tissues, books, and notebooks to magazines, newspapers or banknotes, we use paper and paper-based products every day.
An average office worker makes a substantial quantity of rubbish every cycle. About 1 kg Worth of paper and paperboard products is used up by only one duty craftsman. This makes 10,000 sheets of paper per period. And on a world measure, these measures reach a scary point. One hundred fifteen billion sheets of paper are used up in offices every year. Now, there is one issue that must be responded: What produces this waste?
Using paper same, it is an endless source that lies at the root of this problem. Surveys show that 70% of the waste match with printing mistakes, junk mails, handouts, billings, presentations, packaging, and mixed paper products. Furthermore, according to the statistics, 30% of print jobs are still plucked up from the printer, and forty-five % of them end up in the trash by the end of the day. There exists another question: What can we do to reduce this waste?
WWF (World Wildlife Fund), had ready a list of suggestions that would decrease the waste. The list goes off as:
1. Think before you print.
2. Use paper more effectively.
3. Reduce unwanted mail to your office.
4. Reuse paper.
5. Use less paper by efficiently using computers and other technology.
6. Use better information systems.
7. Use thinner paper.
Each one of these ideas is a reply to the problems that are listed before. Change the forgotten print jobs out of the status, alone, give 30% discipline. Using a sheet until it cannot be used one more time, sending junk mails for recycling, changing the office to technology and digital office, so paper bills and couriers are not needed any longer are all highly efficient solutions.
The last plan suggests the use of thinner paper. Because each paper type has a weight that can be called GSM (Gram Per Square Meter). Most printers work with 70 and 80 gsm. Using thinner paper most rarely does not change the action and can save money for you. For example, an article with an assumption weight of 70 gsm uses and costs 15% more than 60% gsm. And 60 gsm uses and costs 20% more than 50 gsm.
